Teen driver faces numerous charges in deadly Southern State  crash

New York State Police say a teen driver was impaired by drugs and faces numerous charges following a crash on the Southern State Parkway in North Massapequa that killed two of his passengers. The 19 year old suspect and a surviving passenger were hospitalized in serious condition after the crash.
According to police, the suspect was driving in and out of lanes at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree along the shoulder shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday night.
The Southern State Parkway was closed in the area through the overnight but reopened early Monday morning.
