MTA Announces Fourth of July Holiday Service Plan

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced service details for the upcoming July 4 holiday.

On Thursday, July 4, the LIRR will operate on a Sunday schedule, with off-peak fares in effect all day.

Getting to Montauk

On Tuesday, July 2, the 5:13 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to operate all the way to Montauk, arriving in Montauk at 8.30PM.

On Wednesday, July 3, the “Cannonball” train will operate, in addition to the 5:13 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk will be extended to operate all the way to Montauk. An additional train to Montauk will operate departing Jamaica at 7:16 p.m., stopping at Patchogue, Mastic-Shirley and all stops to Montauk, arriving in Montauk at 9.49PM

On Sunday, July 6, the LIRR will have an additional westbound train from Montauk to Jamaica, departing Montauk at 8:22 p.m., making all stops to Westhampton and then arriving in Jamaica at 10:51 p.m.
