Simon Cowell was the “meaner” judge on American Idol but truth is he has a real eye for talent. After Idol he went on to do both the U.S ad Britian versions of The X Factor and Got Talent and discovered some BIG names. He is even responsible for putting groups together like Fifth Harmony and One Direction. It’s been 14 years since he put Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn together and he is ready to find the next “great group.”
“Every generation deserves a megastar boyband, and I don’t think there has been one to have the success of One Direction in over 14 years. The industry tends to focus on solo artists — so it usually takes someone from outside to put a group together. Nothing beats the fun of being in a group, touring the world and performing for thousands — and it’s also a brilliant launchpad for a solo career.” Cowell announced on Tuesday. The talent judge will host auditions across England and Ireland this summer looking for young male talent.
