“Barbie” is now officially the highest- grossing movie of the year in North America beating out “The Super Mario Bros Movie.” Mario is still the highest grossing movie globally with $1.35 billion but “Barbie” isn’t too far behind at $1.3 billion. “Barbie” continues to break other records too like the highest- grossing film domestically for Warner Bros beating out “The Dark Knight,” and it could be their best worldwide release and take down “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” ($1.34 billion) as the studio’s highest-grossing worldwide release in 100 years.
