Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has proposed a $3.7 billion budget for 2023 that includes $8 million in new cybersecurity spending, and funding to hire 200 new police officers
The plan raises spending by about 1.5% over the 2022 budget to $3.74 billion.
The spending plan requires approval by the Suffolk County Legislature.
