NEW YORK (AP) — New York City health officials are urging COVID-19 vaccine providers to make them widely available to all adults who have gone at least six months since their last dose amid a statewide spike in infections over the past two weeks. New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi said Monday he was advising doctors to provide booster shots to any adult patient who asks for one. Cases of COVID-19 are rising across New York state, and officials in the Buffalo and Rochester areas said the situation was particularly troubling there. Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein said she understands that pandemic fatigue “is real.”
