(Copiague, NY)- A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Copiague and then run over by two more vehicles that fled the scene. Police say the initial accident happened on Sunrise Highway by Bayview Avenue at approximately 10:20pm. Police say the initial driver pulled over after the crash and remained at the scene but then two more vehicle’s ran over the pedestrian and kept going. Police identify the pedestrian as 52-year-old Gacia Laroche of Amityville. Laroche was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
