- We have new details this morning, from Suffolk Police, about the lock-down and evacuation at Stony Brook University Hospital on Tuesday night. Police now say they arrested a 33 year old Mastic Beach man after he brought explosives into the hospital. On Wednesday authorities say they searched the mans home and found even more explosives. The FBI is now involved.
- Protests continued on long island on Wednesday. Demonstrators gathered in towns including Westbury, Patchogue, Central Islip, Port Washington and Commack….
- Buffalo says it will replace its police Emergency Response Team with a new “Public Protection Unit.” The move follows the suspension and arrest of two ERT members seen on video shoving a 75-year-old protester
- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is demanding that confederate statues be removed from the Us Capitol.
- NASCAR announced it would ban displays of the confederate flag at its races.
- The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reported subway ridership reached about 800,000 on Monday, the most since the agency began reducing service in late March.
- New York is now allowing nursing homes in some parts of the state to test staffers for COVID-19 only once a week, down from a twice-a-week mandate that began last month.
- As Temperatures on the island rise… Nassau County announced they will be opening 4 town pools on July 3rd The pools will be for Nassau Residents only.
