Officer Brendon Gallagher is in critical condition after a driver who was allegedly speeding crashed into his patrol car on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 55 Sunday night.
First responders quickly transported the injured officer via helicopter to Stoney Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries
Doctors say Gallagher is in the ICU on a ventilator.
