Guy Rivera the man accused of fatally shooting NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller was indicted Tuesday on murder charges.
Rivera is facing several charges, including murder in the first degree and of attempting to shoot another officer. He pleaded not guilty.
He is due back in court on July 22 and will remain in jail until then. Rivera faces life in prison if convicted on the top charge.
Diller, who received four NYPD recognitions in his three years with the department, is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and 1-year-old son, Ryan.
