East Farmingdale, NY- Moderna say’s its vaccine can help protect children, as young as 12 years old, against the coronavirus. The company made the announcement on Tuesday and said that they would be looking to submit their recent teen data, to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval early next month. If approved, Moderna would become the second vaccine in the United States available for children as young as 12 years old. According to the Associated Press, “both Pfizer and Moderna have begun testing in even younger children, from age 11 down to 6-month-old babies. This testing is more complex: Teens receive the same dose as adults, but researchers are testing smaller doses in younger children. Experts hope to see some results in the fall”.
