PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say an officer is in critical condition after a man stabbed him in the leg on Long Island. Suffolk County Police say an officer spotted a Mercedes being driven erratically at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Patchogue. They say the officer tried to pull the Mercedes over, but the Mercedes crashed into a Nissan. Police say the driver of the Mercedes stabbed the officer in the leg. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Nunez. He was arrested on charges including aggravated assault on a police officer. It’s not clear if he has an attorney who can comment.
