Massapequa, NY- A Long Island man and his dog, were killed Thursday night in a motor vehicle crash in Massapequa. Officials in Nassau County say on April 8th at 7:51pm, a 30-year-old man was attempting to cross Merrick Road by Forrest Avenue, when he and his dog were struck by a 2003 Jeep. The operator of the Jeep, a 72-year-old man, remained at the scene. Police say the pedestrian and his dog both suffered multiple injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The victims identity is still being withheld at this time. Police say no charges have been filed against the driver.
