What you need to know about the Excelsior Pass

(East Farmingdale, NY)  Have you heard about the Excelsior Pass?  No, its not that thing you get yearly to get into the beach, that’s the Empire Pass and yes, I was confused about this as well.  The Excelsior Pass, is a pilot program announced by New York State and developed in partnership with IBM to verify if an person has either tested negative for COVID-19 or been vaccinated for the coronavirus.  Under new guidelines issued by New York State, a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours is required for entry into a large performance venue.  The Excelsior Pass has been created for individuals to easily prove they’ve been tested or vaccinated and for venues to easily access the information.  A press release from New York State says the Excelsior Pass will create a QR code that venues can quickly scan to verify an attendees covid information.  The QR code could be printed or stored on a mobile device.  The program has been tested at sporting events held at the Barclay’s Center and at Madison Square Garden.  You can read more about the Excelsior Pass, here.
