(East Farmingdale, NY)  Hundreds of fights were canceled at New York area airports including JFK and LaGuardia, in advance of a winter storm that is expected to dump at least a foot of snow on the runways.   At Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, Southwest, Frontier and American Airlines canceled multiple departures and arrivals.  On their website, MacAarthur Airport, suggests customers contact their airline directly to re-book flights, for Southwest 1-800-435-9792, for Frontier 1-800-401-9000 and for American 1-800-433-7300.
