(Commack, NY)- Snow days are an unexpected holiday- a day for hot chocolate, snow angels, snow forts, snowmen and sleigh riding. With many schools closed on Thursday because of the winter storm, kids across Long Island were able to put the books on hold for the day and get outside and play!
Commack saw over 8 inches of snow according to The National Weather Service and at Hoyt Farm, children were spotted having some snow day fun. Some kids slid down the hill at the farm in tubes, while others on sleds. One of the parents who brought his children to the farm said it was “important for the kids to get outside and play with their friends today”. He felt that because of the coronavirus, “there won”t be many opportunities to get the kids together over the winter”.
