(Elwood, NY)- Long Island Police say a 12-year-old boy, accidentally discharged a handgun and shot himself in the face. Suffolk Police say the accident happened on Sunday night in Elwood at approximately 7:05 p.m. The child was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and later transferred to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
