(East Farmingdale, NY)- Thursday, for the fourth straight day in a row the COVID-19 positivity rate was above 3%. State data shows on Wednesday, almost 650 people on Long Island tested positive for COVID. Statewide the COVID positivity rate was at 2.95%. Governor Cuomo said that New Yorkers need to “stay smart” through the holidays to keep the virus rates under control. If Long Island continues to see rates at or above 3% for seven days, parts of Nassau or Suffolk could be placed into a micro-cluster and face additional restrictions.
